Family Owned, Fresh Nature Foods from Spokane, Washington is seeing the benefits from their participation in 2017 Korea Food-service & Ingredient Inbound Trade Mission to WA, ID. The event was coordinated by the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association’s (WUSATA) Global Connect program, funded by USDA’s MAP. While at the coordinated one-on-one meetings, Fresh Nature met with YSPC, a food importer from South Korea. After nearly a year, YSPC purchased a 40-foot container filled with Fresh Natures IQF Green Chickpeas. In addition, Fresh Nature utilized 2018 FundMatch to offset the cost of new labels for this new market.
“We met Mr. Philip Kwon with YSPC at an inbound trade mission through WUSATA,” said VP of Food Service & International Sales, Brad Overberg. He continues, “WUSATA was not only instrumental in helping us with this sale because of the opportunity to attend in the Inbound Mission, but they also helped offset costs for us to create new packaging which was required to enter the market in South Korea.”
