Primex International Trading, based in Los Angeles, is a fourth-generation nut and dried fruit outfit working to get their California-grown pistachios to customers around the world. To increase the number of sales channels in key Middle Eastern markets, Primex attended the Gulfood Trade Show in February 2020. They exhibited in a pavilion coordinated by the Global Connect program of the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) and funded through the USDA’s Market Access Program (MAP). The trade show provided an important venue for potential customers to stop by the booth, talk, and have discussions. As a result of attending, Primex secured new customers from Libya, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia with whom they are building long-term relationships.
“In addition to gaining new buyers,” shared Marcelo Isaac, Senior Trader, “we reconnected with existing customers and rekindled those relationships. We had the opportunity to learn what they like about what we do, as well as the kind of challenges they are facing which will help us create solutions.”
Primex International Trading is a fourth-generation grower, processor, and international trader and exporter of nuts and dried fruits. The company owns and manages pistachio orchards in California and also receives products from other regional growers. At their Primex Farms plant, they provide high quality pistachio processing for growers throughout California.
